Dear Families,
Welcome to A. Fantis School of Saints Constantine & Helen in the heart of Brooklyn! Our school is special not only because we are recipients of the Blue Ribbon recognition of excellence; it is unique because excellence is a continuous approach in everything we offer our students.
Our educational approach, paideia, is rooted in a higher order of thinking, philosophia, where empathetic and kind teachers serve as facilitators of students’ learning through the Socratic Dialogue and project-based approaches, and where inquiry and a love of learning are central. We understand that education is only holistic when students are given the opportunity to not just focus on academics but also to explore the world of the arts so they can build creativity and participate in sports so they can live healthy lives.
The A. Fantis graduate who always continues their studies in the high school of their choice is also equipped to view and lead life with empathy and confidence. Social-Emotional Learning is an integral part of our school life, and the Christian values that are instilled in our students equip them with love and foster forgiveness. Believing in the value of democracy and Hellenic ideals, the A. Fantis graduate does not just learn the Greek language and culture; they study the importance of being active participants in their community by participating in the school’s Student Council. There, they are called to problem-solve, take initiative, and take ownership of their decisions and actions.
Where do we get our inspiration to thrive for excellence in everything we do? The supportive community, the Board of Trustees, and the School Board, through their words and, most importantly, their actions, have served as pillars in challenging times, with the strong belief that education rooted in faith and Hellenic values is destined to thrive!
