School Closures

It is sometimes necessary to close the school due to inclement weather.

If the NYC public schools are closed, then A. Fantis Parochial School will also be closed.

If the NYC public schools are open, A. Fantis Parochial School may still decide to close. The Principal reserves the right to close the school even when the NYC public schools are not closed.

A chain notification system is in place to notify parents of such closings. The Class Parent (chosen at the beginning of each school year) will be provided with a list of parent or guardian numbers of the class students.

The Class Parent will notify all the parents or guardians on his or her list. (Parents are responsible for immediately notifying the Principal or Secretary if a phone number has been changed.)

However, if school is already in session and the public schools close early, A. Fantis Parochial School will NOT necessarily close early as well. In this instance, please call the school on 718-624-0501 for further information.
