The Arts

As befits a school with a strong Hellenic tradition, music and the performing arts play a key part in our students’ experience at A. Fantis.

This experience centers around the four major performances undertaken each year. Students act and sing in both English and Greek, and have the opportunity to both write and direct.

In the music program, students learn music reading, vocal technique, and performance.

In Grades 4-6, there is an emphasis on vocal technique and ear training. Accordingly A. Fantis Parochial School has a strong tradition of choral groups.

In Grades 7-8, music is also studied in its historical perspective. Via the Music Appreciation part of their course, the students are introduced to composers through the eras.

There are extracurricular opportunities to study Greek dancing, and our dance troupe performs in several productions and community events each year.

Private music lessons in guitar and piano are available after school.
