Religious Studies

Students Kindergarten through 8th Grade receive Religious Instruction on a weekly basis from Father John Lardas, Presiding Priest of the Cathedral of Sts. Constantine and Helen.

The religious education curriculum of the A. Fantis School provides a general overview of Christianity. This includes the stories from the Old Testament and New Testament. The curriculum also has sections dedicated to saints, sacraments, traditions and church history.

Written from an Orthodox perspective, the books offered by the Department of Religious Education are respectful of all cultures and religions. They encompass shared Christian principles.

Prayer forms a daily part of our students’ lives. The Lord’s Prayer is said in both Greek and English at the beginning of the school day, and a prayer is said before lunch. All students attend Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral once a month.
