Physical Education
Physical activity and exercise play an important part in the life of an A. Fantis student, and our school is fortunate to have a spacious gymnasium.
Not only do our students explore how to be physically fit, they are also learning the importance of good sportsmanship, and how it makes us better individuals.
Students Grades K through 8 have three sessions in the gymnasium a week. Pre-school children also enjoy discretionary use of the gymnasium above and beyond the lessons that form part of their curriculum.
In Pre-school and the lower grades, the emphasis is on listening to and learning rules, practicing new skills, and having fun.
In Grades 7-8, two of these lessons a month are devoted to discussing the different aspects, both physical and emotional, of healthy living.
Please see our After-School Program for details of additional sporting activities.
