Assessment

Students’ progress is monitored closely, with informal and formal assessment taking place throughout the year. Students in Grades 1 through 8 are given tests on a regular basis.

Lower and Middle School students receive student contracts outlining the curriculum topics, requirements and expectations, and grading policies.

Mid-Year and Final Examinations are administered in January and June, according to the school calendar given out to the parents and students at the start of the school year.

Students Grades 3 through 8 are also assessed in March using TerraNova. These innovative tests assist our teachers in providing more targeted instruction thus enabling our students to raise their overall achievement levels.

Students in Grades K though 8 receive quarterly written report cards. These include a grade in each subject, as well as teacher comments.

Students in Grades Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 receive three report cards.

Interim progress reports are given to students Grades 1 through 8 in November and March.

Formal Parent/Teacher conferences are held three times a year. Parents, though, are invited to contact their child’s teacher throughout the year with any queries they may have.
