Academics

From our youngest three year olds through Eighth Grade, A. Fantis Parochial School strives to create a learning environment in which each and every child is enabled, encouraged and nurtured to succeed to the best of their ability.

The small class size, capped at 18, allows our teachers to ensure their students achieve a thorough understanding of core subjects. Teachers are able to respond to students as individuals.

With a curriculum developed in alignment with New York State Education Department standards, many of our middle-school students graduate with distinction, having also earned Regents credits in Mathematics, Science and Greek Language towards high-school graduation.

Graduates go on to attend, amongst other schools, prestigious private high schools, specialized high schools (to include Brooklyn Technical High School, Staten Island Technical High School, and Stuyvesant High School), Honor Academies of public high schools, and other high-achievement public high schools.

But while we celebrate the academic successes of our students, there is also the awareness, as outlined by the Greek philosopher Aristotle, that the purpose of an education is to create a good person. Underpinning all of our academic strivings is our goal that an A. Fantis student may grow as an individual, and mature into being part of a community.
